The Sunnen Foundation Awards Grant to KITM

ST. LOUIS (May 26, 2022) –  Kids In The Middle (KITM) is proud to announce that the Agency has been awarded a grant of $10,000 from the Sunnen Foundation. The funds will help provide Group and Individual Counseling for children experiencing difficult family transitions.

“The Foundation’s support has allowed Kids In The Middle to further our mission and provide counseling, education, and support services to the Greater St. Louis Community,” says Katy Walter, CEO of KITM.

The Sunnen Foundation is a charitable foundation which was established by machinery manufacturer Joseph Sunnen in 1953. The foundation awards ten to 20 grants a year and are typically awarded to the organization in the St. Louis region, and is committed to funding projects that support youth services.

KITM will not turn families away because of an inability to pay for counseling services. The Agency uses a sliding scale fee process, and families pay what they can afford. In 2021, KITM helped 2,079 children, parents, and families heal from the trauma of divorce and separation. This is made possible through the generosity of foundations such as the Sunnen Foundation, individual and corporate grants, the United Way of Greater St. Louis, and the Children’s Services Fund.
